Nepalese community living in Ireland welcomed the newly appointed Nepalese Ambassador to Ireland Dr. Suresh Chandra Chalise in a programme organised by Nepal Ireland Society. Dr. Chalise was visiting to Ireland to present his credential to the president of Ireland Professor Mary McAleese on 25th June 2010.
Welcoming the Ambassador on behalf of NIS… See more, Dr. Keshav Bhattarai briefly described about the history of Nepalese in Ireland and hoped that the relationship between Ireland and Nepal will be further strengthen during the tenure of Dr. Chalise.
Vice President of NIS Mr. Deepesh Man Shakya delivered a short presentation on the various activities undertaken by NIS over the past 10 years for the welfare of Nepalese community in Ireland and in Nepal.
Past President of NIS Mr. Jeevan Timilsina highlighted on the history of NIS and wished that the relationship between the Nepalese community in Ireland and the Nepalese Embassy in the UK will be further strengthen over the coming years.
President of NRN-Ireland Mr. Sukra Raj Neupane highlighted on the activities of NRN-Ireland.
President of NIS Ms Sarada Khatri Petticrew presented souvenir to the Ambassador on behalf of NIS. At that occasion, Dr. Chalise also felicitated the patrons of Nepal Ireland Society Mr. Krishna Kumar Dongol, Mr. Gangaram Shrestha and Mr. Ram Narayan Paudel, on behalf of NIS.
Towards the end of the programme, Dr. Chalise and the Embassy official Mr. Khimananda Bhusal responded to various queries raised by the participants.
The welcome programme was hosted by Mr. Nabaraj Koirala.
The welcome programme concluded with a dinner hosted by NIS at the local Nepalese restaurant Deewali in Dublin.
